About Mohair Magic Design

Mohair Magic Design was born from a love of knitting and a fascination with what can be created from mohair, colour and imagination.

I have been knitting since childhood, gradually developing my own way of working with mohair — choosing colours, combining yarns and adjusting proportions and details as I work.

Every stitch is knitted by hand. Many of my sweaters are made seamlessly in the round, using several strands of yarn to create substantial, warm garments with a character that cannot be reproduced by mass production. I work mainly with high-quality mohair and carefully selected wool, choosing materials not only for their composition, but for how they feel, behave and age in a finished sweater.

The quality of mohair yarn is very important to me, and each yarn is chosen carefully for the right balance between quality, character and price. For custom orders, a specific mohair yarn requested by the customer can also be sourced especially for their sweater when possible.

I always try to make a sweater that will truly suit the person who will wear it. For custom orders, I may suggest colours, proportions or small changes when they will make the finished piece better. A previous sweater can sometimes be reproduced very closely; at other times, the available yarn means the result will be slightly different. What matters is reaching the point where the finished sweater feels right and I can be confident that the customer will be happy to receive it.

This is slow fashion in the most literal sense. A heavy sweater can take many days to make. There are no production lines and no shortcuts. I would rather make fewer pieces and make them well.

You will notice that the sweaters in my shop are photographed on mannequins rather than worn by models. This is intentional. I want a new garment to belong first to the person who buys it. For me, this is a small matter of respect — for the sweater, for my work and for its future owner.
